London protest calls for fair trial for bloggers in Azerbaijan

London Demonstration outside Azerbaijan Embassy September 2009

Friends of Azerbaijan joined a host of other individuals all with the same aim of calling on the government of Azerbaijan to release Emin and Adnan, or justify the reason for their arrest. The protest was the second to be held in London focusing on this trial, and one of many that have taken place around the world, in locations such as Washington and Holland. Amnesty International recently organised a significant protest outside the Azerbaijan Embassy in London in June of this year, highlighting the increasing difficulties journalists in Azerbaijan are facing and calling on the government to improve their human rights record.
